About The Artist:
As a child in England during World War Two (WWII), Stewart was influenced by the U.S. 8th Air Force and the support that he and his family received from these generous warriors. Their actions committed Stewart on his eventual but certain path to America.
From an early age Stewart drew and painted, and attended The Royal Academy of Art in London. In 1958 he received his degree in Fine Arts & Graphic Design. In 1962 he was recruited by Lennen & Newell, an advertising agency on Madison Avenue in New York.
In 1965 Stewart was drafted into the U.S. Army and served honorably. Due to his obvious talents and military areas of expertise, he has continued serving his beloved America by working for Sandia National Laboratories, a Department of Energy facility in Livermore, California. Stewart has also been active with and contributes to the U.S. Air Force Art Program.
In 1997 on a mission to England with the Air Force Art Program to celebrate the dedication of the U.S. Air Force Museum in Britain, Stewart met two pilots with the 8th Air Force who knew his father, who had delivered ordnance to them at Duxford in 1943. This experience once again touched Stewart and has motivated him to further use his talent to give back gifts given to him and his family as a child.
Stewart lives with his wife in Newport Beach, California where he has his studio. His body of work ranges widely from portraits to landscapes to murals, and one of his special achievements is a mural that can be seen at www.KilledInActionFund.org which he donated after taking more than a year to complete. Proceeds from the fund have gone to help the KIA families and the work recognizes and thanked the troops of “Operation Enduring Freedom”. The mural was on display at Central Command HQ building at McDill Air Force Base in Florida and now is in the PENTAGON.

Stewart, on a trip to Afghanistan is shown here sketching Bagram Bob, the O.S.I. officer in charge at the Bagram Air Force Base cleaning his weapon.
