These images were inspired by a trip Stewart made to Montana and Wyoming in September, 2009. He was in awe of the beauty and simplicity of the region, and
created numerous such sketches which have been made into paintings.

A fish trail along the Gallatin on the way to a favorite spot called "Will O' the Wisp"..
Because of the clarity of the water, and the enormous evening hatch here, not many big fish are caught, but the area is easily accessible and magnificent.
Inside the canyon, several castle shapes provide a magical backdrop to “Where the Gallatin Runs Through it”.
In several sections of the Gallatin, the very best holding water can only be reached by challenging the rapids.
Represents an area on the lower Gallatin where the morning light filters beautifully between the numerous trees along the bank.
